Technical Leadership & Migrations

Cognizant · Equifax (Insurance)

+

Situation

An insurance platform (ACA) ran on Angular 12 and Nx 13 with 12-minute build times and a 4.2s mobile LCP that hurt the user experience.

Task

Modernize the platform without stopping feature delivery and dramatically improve perceived performance.

Action

Orchestrated and executed the Angular 12→16 and Nx 13→17 migrations, optimized bundling with lazy loading, and established coding standards and code reviews across a 200k+ LOC codebase.

Result

Reduced the build from 12 to 3 minutes (75%) and LCP from 4.2s to 1.8s (57%). Sustained technical excellence contributed to extending the contract from 6 months to 2 years.

Team Leadership

Cognizant-Softvision · Walmart Kalos

+

Situation

A team of 8 engineers maintained a retail platform on Angular and NgRx v8 with recurring state-management bugs.

Task

Lead the frontend team and modernize the codebase to reduce defects and speed up delivery.

Action

Led the Angular/NgRx v8→v13 migration, built a reusable component library with Angular Material, and ran code reviews and integration sessions with Backend, QA, and Mobile.

Result

Reduced state bugs by 60% and accelerated feature delivery by 35%, standardizing the user interface.

Architecture & Scalability

Live Restaurant (SaaS)

+

Situation

A real-time karaoke SaaS platform needed to scale to multiple clients without deploying one instance per client.

Task

Design a multi-tenant architecture supporting dozens of tenants and thousands of concurrent WebSocket connections on a single server.

Action

Designed a monorepo (frontend/backend/shared) with Next.js 15 and a dedicated Socket.IO server, API-driven dynamic tenant configuration, LRU caching, and compound MongoDB indexes, deployed with Dokploy + Traefik.

Result

Architecture ready for 64-68 tenants and 3,600+ concurrent WebSocket connections, targeting <50ms API response and a 60-day trial model.

Mentorship & International Impact

Equifax · Cyber Division

+

Situation

An ActionScript-to-Angular migration project for banking grew from a single team in Mexico City to a multinational operation.

Task

Scale Angular knowledge and best practices to distributed teams across several countries.

Action

Started mentoring a specific team and scaled it to dozens of developers across Mexico, Chile, and Peru, providing architecture consulting for cloud apps with Angular 8-12.

Result

Standardized practices and unblocked teams in three countries, sustaining progress on the multi-client migration.
